Sirens sounded in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem as Yemeni missiles strikes

The Israeli army announced on Sunday that it intercepted a missile fired from Yemen before it could penetrate its airspace.

The Israeli army said in a statement, “the air force intercepted a missile launched from Yemen,” adding, “it was intercepted before it penetrated Israeli airspace”.

The statement continued, “Alerts were activated in accordance with established policy, especially in the greater Tel Aviv and Jerusalem areas”.

The Yemeni Ansar Allah group announced on Sunday that it had successfully targeted Ben Gurion Airport in central Israel with a ballistic missile, in “support of the Palestinian people”.

The group’s military spokesman, Yahya Saree, said in a televised statement, “The Houthi missile force targeted Ben Gurion Airport in the occupied Jaffa region with a military operation”.

He explained that the attack was carried out with a “Zulfiqar ballistic missile, and the operation successfully achieved its goal”.

He added that the operation came “in support of the oppressed Palestinian people and in support of their dear and struggling resistance”.

Earlier, the Ansar Allah group announced that it had clashed with the US aircraft carrier Truman in the Red Sea three times over the past 24 hours.

“Our armed forces clashed with the US aircraft carrier Truman and enemy warships in the Red Sea three times in the past 24 hours,” Yahya Saree, the group’s military spokesman, said in a televised statement.

He explained that the clash was carried out with a number of cruise missiles and drones.
