Norway appoints Hilde Haraldstad as new ambassador to Syria

Norway announced the appointment of Hilde Haraldstad as its ambassador to Syria, as part of a move aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and developing cooperation between the two countries.

This appointment came within the framework of continuous diplomatic moves, where Syrian Foreign Minister and Expatriates Asaad al Shaibani received the new ambassador in the capital, Damascus, to discuss ways to expand joint cooperation and discuss the most prominent regional developments.

During the meeting, the minister received a copy of the ambassador’s credentials, in an official step that paves the way for the full start of her diplomatic tasks inside Syria.

This step reflects the desire of both parties to revitalize political and diplomatic relations, and to open new horizons for cooperation in various fields during the next phase.
