Netanyahu officially approves opening the Rafah crossing for Gazans to leave for Egypt in only one way within days
Israel announced that it will open the Rafah crossing in the coming days for Gazans to leave for Egypt.
The Israeli army’s Special Operations Command announced this, noting that the decision was taken in accordance with the ceasefire agreement and under the guidance of the political leadership – that is, with the approval of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who recently blocked this step-in light of the delay in the return of the abductees.
The Israeli Foreign Ministry statement said that the exit of the population through the Rafah crossing will be possible in coordination with Egypt, after security approval from Israel, and under the supervision of the EU delegation, similar to the mechanism that was activated in January 2025.
It was also indicated that he wouldn’t approve the entry of people from Egypt into the Gaza Strip at this time.
