Iranian Kurdish groups have consulted with the United States in recent days about the possibility of attacking Iranian security forces in the west of the country.

A coalition of Iranian Kurdish groups, which is based on the Iranian-Iraqi border inside the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, has been training for some time to carry out an attack of this kind with the aim of weakening the Iranian army, at a time when the United States and Israel continue to bomb Iranian targets with bombs and missiles.

The move follows the assassination of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and other senior officials since the start of the US-Israeli offensive on Saturday.

Regarding the final decision, the order for the implementation of the operation hasn’t yet been decided or its possible timing determined.

It also explained that these groups have requested military support from the United States, while Iraqi leaders in Erbil and Baghdad have reached out in recent days with President Donald Trump’s administration in this context.
