Israel has provided Washington with information about Iran’s missile program and fears this from Trump
Israel provided the United States with intelligence related to Iran’s ballistic missile program, during the visit of the head of Israel’s Military Intelligence Division, Major General Shlomi Binder, to Washington.
The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation said Friday that Binder, who visited Washington last Tuesday and Wednesday, provided intelligence regarding Iran’s ballistic missile program.
Israel expressed its concern that any possible agreement that US President Donald Trump may reach with Iran may be limited to the nuclear program only, without including the ballistic missile system or its regional activities,” according to the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation.
According to the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation, “The United States hasn’t yet made a decision on a military strike on Iran, while Israel estimates that the US administration prefers to exhaust the negotiation process before taking any military action”.
Israel fears a repeat of what it described as the gaps of the previous agreement with Iran, which Trump withdrew from during his first term, especially the disregard of files beyond the nuclear program, such as the missile program, as well as the issue of setting a time limit for the agreement.
In this context, the broadcaster quoted sources in the Israeli security establishment as saying that it was afraid that Washington’s demands to prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon will be limited to the rest of the issues, without addressing the rest of the issues.
On Thursday, the Israeli Channel 12, citing US officials, reported that Binder made an unannounced visit to the US capital on Tuesday and Wednesday to discuss sensitive issues related to a possible US attack on Iran.
It added that Binder held meetings with senior officials of the Pentagon, the White House, and the Central Intelligence Agency, during which he provided updated intelligence on possible targets inside Iranian territory.
Earlier on Friday, Trump revealed that Iran really wants to reach an agreement with the United States, expressing his hope that this will be achieved.
Trump noted that his country is currently sending a large number of ships toward Iran, but expressed hope that an agreement will be reached, saying, “If we reach an agreement, it will be good, and if we don’t reach an agreement, we will see what happens”.
Iran believes that the United States seeks through sanctions, pressure, and provoking unrest to provide a pretext for external intervention in order to bring about regime change in the country, and vows a comprehensive and unprecedented response to any attack that targets it, albeit limited, according to some US statements and leaks.
On June 13, 2025, Israel launched an aggression against Iran with US support, which lasted 12 days, and included nuclear military sites, civilian facilities, and the assassination of leaders and scientists, while Tehran targeted Israeli military and intelligence headquarters with missiles and drones.
On June 22, the United States attacked Iran’s nuclear facilities and claimed to have terminated them, Tehran responded by bombing the US base of Al Udeid in Qatar, and then on June 24, Washington declared a ceasefire between Tel Aviv and Tehran.
