Israel has warned the United States against concluding a bad deal with Iran, stressing that any confrontation or strategic change will require much greater military force, amid unprecedented mobilization inside Israel.

Israel considered that Tehran is trying to influence US decision-makers through political and military shows, which explained that these messages were behind the surprise visit of the Israeli army chief of staff, Eyal Zamir, to Washington over the weekend, where he held intensive talks with senior American military commanders that focused mainly on the Iranian issue.

The visit came weeks after frequent visits by senior Israeli defense officials to the United States, in a sign of growing concern that Washington could sign a deal that doesn’t take into account Israeli interests.

A number of senior IDF commanders, including the newly appointed commander of the Air Force, participated in the visit, while the current commander remained in Israel to complete possible operational plans.

During the meetings, Zamir provided the Americans with intelligence that Israel said showed Iranian attempts to rehabilitate its missile program and enhance its capabilities.

Israel insists it’s not opposed to the diplomatic track in principle, but stresses three basic conditions for any deal it considers good: preventing Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon, halting missile development and launches, and stopping support for its proxies in the region.

Israel argues that any waiver of these conditions would give Tehran time and ability to rebuild its military power.

Israel has warned the United States of what it called Iran’s deception and set three conditions for what it considers a good deal with it: “No nuclear weapons, no missiles, no support for Tehran’s proxies in the Middle East”.

In parallel, the United States continues to strengthen its military presence in the Middle East by sending additional air and naval forces, in an effort to create a credible military threat, but the Israeli message to Washington has been clearer: if the goal is to topple the Iranian regime, the force mobilized so far is insufficient, and much larger forces and broader readiness will be needed, meaning a long and complex escalation scenario.

Israel considers the current moment to represent a historic opportunity that may not be repeated, but at the same time it warns that any hasty or weak agreement could backfire and increase security risks for it and the entire region, at a time of unprecedented tension and constant alert on various fronts.
