Zelensky warns of Ukrainian forces possible retreat as the Russian army advances

The Russian army continues to advance in military operations in Ukraine, especially in the Donetsk region, where the Ukrainian president warned that his country’s forces may be forced to retreat if they don’t receive US support.

In specific developments, the Russian army recorded progress in the southern part of Donetsk, and the city of Novomikhailivka witnessed greater progress.

It also made limited progress south of Nevelsky in the northwest of the Donetsk front.

While the Russian forces headed west from the city of Donetsk, where, after continuous battles for three weeks, they succeeded in storming the center of the city of Gorgievka and securing the dam of Lake Gorgievka.

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the killing of 795 Ukrainian soldiers and the downing of 21 missiles and 175 drones launched by Kiev forces during the past 24 hours.

The Russian Defense Ministry indicated that it destroyed Ukrainian energy sites and air defenses using high-precision air, sea and land strikes and Kinzhal hypersonic missiles.

For his part, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed, in an interview on Friday, that if the promised military support from the United States isn’t provided, which is prevented by obstacles in Congress, his country’s forces will be forced to retreat “in small steps”.
