Violent Ukrainian bombing of the Russian Belgorod causes casualties and destruction.

The governor of Russia’s Belgorod region said on Monday, that seven civilians, including a child, were injured in Ukrainian shelling on the town of Valuyki, which is within the border region.

Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said via Telegram that five multi-storey buildings and four homes damaged, with one building on fire.

Separately, Roman Starovoit, governor of the Kursk region, north of Belgorod and on the border with Ukraine, said Ukrainian forces had shelled two villages there.

According to preliminary data, there were no casualties.

Kiev almost never claims responsibility for attacks inside Russia or on Russian-controlled territory in Ukraine.

Both sides deny targeting civilians in the war waged by Russia on its neighbor about 16 months ago.

Russian regions bordering Ukraine have seen explosions and attacks almost daily in recent months, and Russian officials accuse Ukrainian forces or pro-Ukrainian saboteurs of being behind these attacks.
