Ukrainian intelligence Director talking about the situation of the counter-attack and Zelensky declares that the counter-attack isn’t fast but there are progress

The Ukrainian military intelligence Director, Kirill Budanov, has tried to justify the Ukrainian forces’ stance over the slow progress of the counterattack, saying that Russian forces didn’t capture Artyomovsk (Bakhmut) immediately.
Budanov said in an interview with Reuters that the counterattack continues, in general, let’s just say that it continues, success will be ours, but later, I want to remind you of this famous story with Bakhmut (Artyomovsk).
“The Russians have been attacking it for more than ten months, we have the task a little more than Bakhmut, we have the time a little less than ten months”.
On July 3, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu confirmed that the Ukrainian forces hadn’t achieved any of the goals of their counterattack on any of the axes.
In a video conference with the leadership of the Russian armed forces, Shoigu said, “In general, the enemy hasn’t achieved its goals in any of the directions… This testifies to the skill of our fighters and the clearly exaggerated expectations of vaunted Western weapons”.
Only in the south of Donetsk, Zaporizhia and Donetsk directions, where Ukrainian formations launch unsuccessful attacks, groups of the Russian Armed Forces destroyed 15 aircraft, 3 helicopters and 920 armored vehicles, including 16 Leopard tanks.
He explained that the number of destroyed Leopard tanks almost exactly corresponds to the number of these tanks delivered by Poland and Portugal to Ukraine.
For his part, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said last Thursday that the Ukrainian counterattack wasn’t fast, but the Ukrainian forces are advancing.
“The attack isn’t fast, that’s a fact… However, we are making progress and we aren’t backing down like the Russians,” he said.
Zelensky added, “We are now seizing the initiative”.
