Trump attacked his rivals to represent the Republican Party in the race for the White House and Democratic President Joe Biden in an interview broadcast Wednesday on X platform (formerly Twitter), coinciding with his first debate of the candidates for the Republican primaries.

Trump said, from the first minutes of the pre-recorded interview with former Fox News presenter Tucker Carlson, “I decided it was appropriate for me not to participate in the debate,” which is taking place in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

“Do I sit there for an hour or two and get harassed by people who shouldn’t even be running for president?”

For about 45 minutes, Trump responded to questions from Carlson, who embodies conservative American circles, in an interview that included various and sometimes unexpected topics, such as the death of billionaire Jeffrey Epstein in prison after he was convicted of sexually exploiting minors, and Trump said about him, “I think he probably committed suicide,” and the relationship the former president with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

However, he focused his criticism in particular and repeatedly on Biden, who defeated him in the 2020 elections and who is running for a second term.

He said about him, “I don’t think that he will be able to reach the end, but no one knows,” adding, “I think that his mental condition is worse than his physical condition, and it cannot be said that he is a sports hero”.

Regarding his Republican opponents, Trump saw Florida Governor Ron DeSantis as a “hopeless case” and expressed his “disappointment” with his former deputy, Mike Pence.

Likewise, Trump spoke about his program, stressing that if elected, his priority would be to “close the borders” with Mexico to reduce immigration, which is a sensitive issue in the United States.

Carlson asked Trump regarding the possibility of civil war or conflict in the United States, Trump replied, “I don’t know”.

Trump continued, “There is a level of enthusiasm that I have not witnessed before… There’s a level of hate that I’ve never seen before, and that’s probably a bad mix”.

Trump, who has been charged in four cases, confirmed that these charges are “frivolous, meaningless and fabricated”,

Trump will surrender himself Thursday in a prison in the state of Georgia, where he will be arrested for a short period before being released on bail as part of the investigation into his attempts to change the outcome of the 2020 presidential election.
