The White House: Biden reviews reports of cocaine in the White House
On Wednesday the US Secret Service, said that the white powder that found in the White House turned to be cocaine.
It’s reported that the Secret Service is responsible for the security of US President Joe Biden.
The suspicious substance discovered last Sunday in the area of one of the entrances to the western wing of the government headquarters in Washington.
It was later sent to a laboratory for analysis, while President Biden wasn’t in the White House when the substance was found.
The US Secret Service didn’t respond to a request for comment.
Meanwhile, it’s not yet clear how the cocaine got into the White House.
The White House spokeswoman Karen Jean-Pierre announced on Wednesday, that White House staff informed US President Joe Biden of the presence of white powder believed to be cocaine in a locker inside the western wing of the building.
Karen Jean-Pierre confirmed that President Biden is following all reports related to this matter, and that the Secret Service will investigate the matter.
The US media reported that the white powder was found in a locker used by employees and guests to leave their mobile phones, and that the Secret Service in the White House had opened an investigation to find out how the substance got into the White House.
White House spokeswoman Karen Jean-Pierre said that the White House Secret Service has opened an investigation into the incident and will check cameras and entry logs to determine who has access to the room.
This comes after the discovery of the suspicious substance in the White House, which led to its evacuation for a short time, and according to media reports, preliminary tests revealed that the white powder is cocaine.
US media indicated that Hunter, son of US President Joe Biden, was in the White House shortly before the white powder found in the West Wing.
White House Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi admitted that the discovery of the unknown substance had led to a “precautionary closure” of the White House.
On the other hand, the Former US President Donald Trump commented on the cocaine incident.
On Wednesday, Trump said, “Does anyone really believe that the cocaine that was found in the West Wing of the White House, very close to the Oval Office, is intended for the use of anyone other than Hunter and Joe Biden?”
Trump added that the media, which he described as false, would immediately start promoting that the powder that was found wasn’t cocaine, but aspirin, and that a very small amount of it was found.
“The noise of this story will gradually diminish to zero,” he concluded.
