Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced on Tuesday, a huge oil discovery, whose daily production expected to reach 100,000 barrels, in the southeast of the country.

This came in a speech delivered by Erdogan during the opening ceremony of a group of projects in the state of Konya, in the center of the country.

The Turkish president said: “I would like to give new good news… We have discovered an oil field with a production capacity of 100,000 barrels per day”.

He added, “We started producing oil from wells from the areas that we had to leave because of terrorism”.

Erdogan continued, “Türkiye will become an energy exporter from now on”.

The Turkish president also stressed that his government is working hard to liberate Türkiye from dependence on energy from abroad.

This coincides with the continuation of the process of voting abroad for the Turkish presidential elections, which began last Thursday, and is an important indicator of the result.

The process of voting abroad continues 24 hours a day until May 9, and days before the start of voting at home, which is scheduled for the 14th of the same month.

Observers consider the upcoming Turkish elections the most important in the history of current President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, as they come in light of internal and regional crises.
