The Russian army destroys a US-made MIM-23 HAWK anti-aircraft missile system in Ukraine
The Russian Defense Ministry announced today the destruction of a launcher of the MIM-23 HAWK anti-aircraft missile system, a US-made system, however, they didn’t provide additional details about the operation.
This is the first time that Russia has indicated the destruction of this type of bomber since the start of its special military operations.
This announcement comes in light of previous reports from Taiwanese media that the United States plans to purchase hundreds of MIM-23 HAWK anti-air missiles from Taiwan for delivery to Ukraine, in addition to previous shipments of these systems.
In its daily report, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the total losses of Ukrainian forces during the past 24 hours amounted to about 1,045 soldiers.
The report of the Russian Ministry of Defense said:
Units from the West group of forces were able to control more strategic locations, resulting in losses to the Ukrainian forces of about 20 soldiers.
Units of the South group of forces made progress in their tactical situation, resulting in the loss of about 500 Ukrainian soldiers.
Units from the Center group of forces also advanced and repelled 9 counterattacks, with Ukrainian losses estimated at about 360 soldiers.
Units of the East group of forces took control of more suitable positions, inflicting losses on the Ukrainian forces estimated at about 95 soldiers.
Units of the Dnepr group of forces targeted Ukrainian forces and equipment in the Zaporizhia and Kherson regions, resulting in the loss of about 70 soldiers.
The drone depot of the 113th Regional Defense Brigade was hit, as well as Ukrainian military forces and equipment in 115 districts.
104 Ukrainian drones were shot down, in addition to the Tochka-O tactical missile, 6 shells from the HIMARS and Vilkha rocket launchers, along with 4 French-made Hammer guided aerial bombs.
