The Israeli army announces that its Chief of Staff has approved plans to continue operations in the Gaza Strip
The Israeli army announced, on Sunday, that Chief of Staff Herzi Halevy had approved plans to continue operations in the Gaza Strip.
This was stated by Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari, during a press conference at the Ministry of Defense headquarters in Tel Aviv.
Hagari said, “The Chief of Staff approved plans to continue operations on the southern front of Gaza”.
He added, “He is preparing for the next steps of the war in the Gaza Strip,” despite international calls for a ceasefire.
He added, “This week in Gaza, we completed another operation in the central Gaza Strip against Hamas to destroy its infrastructure”.
Hagari pointed out, “There are always forces operating inside Gaza, in addition to additional forces preparing for the next steps in the war”.
He continued his speech, “There is no change in the directives of the Home Front Command; If there are any changes, we will update immediately with responsibility and transparency”.
The Israeli army spokesman’s statements came after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu threatened to increase political and military pressure on Hamas.
This coincides with continuing Israeli threats to invade the city of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip, despite international and international warnings against storming the city, which is the last refuge for refugees in the Strip.
