The Houthis announces the targeting of the US destroyer USS Greeley in the Red Sea
The Yemeni Ansar Allah group (Houthis) announced on Wednesday that its naval forces fired suitable naval missiles at the American destroyer USS Greeley in the Red Sea.
The military spokesman for the group, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, said in a statement, “The American and British warships will be targeted within the right of legitimate defense of our country, our people, and our nation, and in confirmation of the continued Yemeni position in support of Palestine”.
Saree affirmed, “Continuing to prevent Israeli navigation or navigation heading to the ports of occupied Palestine until the aggression against Gaza stops and the siege is lifted”.
The Yemeni Ansar Allah group announced last Monday morning that it had targeted the US Navy’s logistical support ship, Lewis B. Puller, in the Gulf of Aden.
The military spokesman for Ansar Allah, Yahya Saree, said in a statement posted on Telegram, “Targeting the American ship comes as a victory for the oppression of the Palestinian people, and within the response to the American-British aggression against our country”.
The Ansar Allah group announced on October 10 that it would participate in missile and air attacks and other military options in support of the Palestinian factions against the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip, if the United States intervenes militarily directly in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in the Gaza Strip.
