Shortly after the controversial statement of British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace about military aid to Ukraine, Wallace decided to resign from his post at the beginning of next September.
These statements were made after the recent NATO summit, which witnessed a surprise, where the British Secretary of Defense complained about the continuous requests from the Ukrainian side, stressing that his country isn’t an “Amazon Store,” to order weapons, and Ukraine should show more gratitude.
These remarks received an unsatisfactory response in Britain, with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak distancing himself from them, and then Ben Wallace announcing his resignation.
The resignation of British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace is a great loss for the Conservative Party, as it was considered one of the trusted and respected members in the eyes of the British.
According to a poll conducted within the party on the popularity of government officials, Ben Wallace came second behind Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
