Pravda: Putin postponed his planned visit to Türkiye!
The Russian Pravda newspaper disclosed in its report the reasons that led to the cancellation of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to Ankara, due to many factors.
Among these factors, it was mentioned that Türkiye was withdrawing from Russia’s list of allies with the aim of avoiding US sanctions and increasing its provision of military assistance to Ukraine.
Pravda newspaper announced that Putin’s visit to Türkiye, scheduled in the coming days, has been postponed until a later time, perhaps next April or May.
The cancellation of the visit came as a surprise to Ankara, as Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan had announced this week that the two leaders had agreed to the agenda includes important topics such as the gas hub project, the situation in Ukraine and grain exports through the Black Sea.
The Russian newspaper explained that Russia postponed the visit due to the electoral pressures facing Putin, and a formal agreement wasn’t reached on all issues with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
In this context, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Edam Research Center in Istanbul indicated that “realistic progress is represented by in the project to establish a natural gas center, but there may be no progress on this issue”.
Despite this, the Russian side made it clear that negotiations are continuing regarding Alexander Novak’s visit to Ankara, and that everything is ready for signing to start the gas center project, and with regard to the grain deal and making Türkiye a grain center, which Russia has expressed its willingness to implement, this step is of great importance to the Russians, but Recent events have taken it out of the loop due to US pressure.
Pravda also showed that Türkiye closed the accounts of Russian companies a week ago and imposed restrictions on the use of Turkish banks, due to US pressure and secondary sanctions.
This step affected companies that have adopted Türkiye as a legal station for payments and deliveries, in addition to oil and gas traders, and these issues are considered important.
Very important for Russia, and Türkiye has actually lost its status as an ally of Russia due to sanctions pressures.
In this context, some wonder why Türkiye needs Russia and makes concessions to it?
