An opinion poll showed that a majority of Israelis support carrying out a military operation against Hezbollah in the border areas.

According to Maariv newspaper, 71% of Israelis believe that Israel must move to remove Hezbollah from the border area.

While 12% believed that Israel must continue to contain the situation in southern Lebanon, while 17% didn’t specify a specific answer.

On the other hand, 45% of the survey participants considered that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made a mistake by not returning his delegation to the Cairo negotiations on the exchange of prisoners and a ceasefire in Gaza.

In contrast, 33% believe that Netanyahu was right, while 22% didn’t specify a specific answer.

The Israeli media said last Tuesday that the Cairo meetings ended amid Hamas’s insistence on its position to end the war on the Gaza Strip, which Israel doesn’t accept.

On Wednesday, the Israeli media said that Netanyahu had instructed the Israeli delegation, which was supposed to travel Thursday to resume prisoner exchange negotiations in Cairo, not to go.
