North Korean state media said on Wednesday that a delegation from Pyongyang headed by the Minister of International Trade is currently visiting Iran, in a rare public report on the dealings of the two countries, which are believed to have secret military relations.

North Korean Central News Agency reported that Foreign Economic Relations Minister Yoon Jong-ho left Pyongyang by air, Tuesday, at the head of a ministerial delegation to visit Iran, without giving further details.

North Korea and Iran have long been suspected of cooperating on ballistic missile programs, and may exchange technical expertise and components that go into making them.

According to reports, Reuters reported in February that Iran had provided a large number of ballistic missiles to Russia for use in its war with Ukraine.

North Korea is also suspected of supplying missiles and artillery to Russia, although both countries have denied the allegation.

The South Korean government database indicates that Yoon had previously worked to consolidate North Korea’s relations with Syria.

Leon has had an active role in the growing dealings between North Korea and Russia, as this month he led a delegation to visit Moscow, according to the Korean Central News Agency.
