The New York Times reported that Washington was late in delivering F16 fighter jets to the Ukrainian army.

The New York Times said, “The Biden administration didn’t allow NATO countries to provide Ukraine with F16 fighter jets for more than a year”.

“By the time the pilots are trained to use the advanced aircraft, it will be too late to help the Ukrainian armed forces defend themselves in the counterattack”.

The New York Times pointed out that due to the lack of air assets, the Ukrainian armed forces cannot deal with Russian combat helicopters, which easily destroy Ukrainian tanks and other equipment.

According to the New York Times and the British Defense, “some Russian helicopters are equipped with anti-tank missiles that fly so far or so low that they cannot be intercepted by the Ukrainian air defense system”.

Since the beginning of the Russian invasion on Ukraine in February 2022, the United States has allocated more than 75 billion dollars in various types of aid to Ukraine, and most of this aid, or nearly 50 billion dollars, has been spent on weapons and related military equipment.
