New York Times: Israel faced an Iranian attack with more advanced weapons than its predecessors
The New York Times reported that the weapons used by Iran in its attack on Israel fly farther and are more accurate than those used by Hamas and others against Israel in the past 6 months.
The New York Times pointed out in an article that Israel had previously faced air attacks from Hamas and Islamic Jihad with short-range missiles (range of 12 to 25 miles) and somewhat inaccurate 122 mm Grad missiles, in addition to Syrian-made M-302 missiles; It has a range of about 100 miles.
The New York Times noted that Hamas also possesses Fajr 5 missiles from Iran, and a similar, locally made version of them with a range of about 50 miles.
The New York Times quoted experts that the Iranian weapons used are more advanced, and confirmed that the weapons used by Iran in its attack can reach much greater distances, and some of them can travel much faster.
However, Israel said that almost all missiles and drones launched by Iran had been intercepted, and confirmed that many of the interceptions were carried out with the help of US forces.
