Netanyahu ordered Mossad negotiation team to return to Israel

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu decided to order the Mossad intelligence team in Doha to return to Israel after reaching a dead end in the negotiations aimed at renewing the truce and exchanging detainees with Hamas.
The Israeli Prime office said in a statement, “After the negotiations reached a dead end and under the guidance of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Mossad Chief David Barnea ordered his team in Doha to return to Israel.”
He believed that Hamas didn’t implement its obligations under the agreement, which included the release of all kidnapped children and women according to a list that was transferred to Hamas and approved by it.
In the statement, the Mossad chief thanked intelligence officials in the United States and Egypt, in addition to the Qatari prime minister, for the tremendous mediation efforts that led to a seven-day truce that began on November 24, and allowed for the cessation of hostilities and the release of hostages held in Gaza in exchange for Palestinian detainees in Israeli prisons.
Earlier, the Israeli intelligence service (Mossad) team in Doha, hold discussions with Qatari mediators about another truce in the fighting in Gaza, before they ordered to return to Israel.
The talks, mediated by Qatar, focused on the possibility of releasing new categories of Israeli hostages, other than women and children, and the standards of a truce, which the source said were different from the truce agreement that collapsed, Friday.
Israel and Hamas were studying new criteria for the release of hostages and a truce even before the collapse of the truce.
The truce, which began on November 24, saw the release of women, children and foreign hostages held by Hamas in the October 7 attack.
In return, Israel released a number of Palestinian detainees in its prisons, including women.
Israel and Hamas exchanged accusations of causing the collapse of the truce, which lasted a week and was extended twice before the mediators failed to find a way to extend a third.
Israel accused Hamas of refusing to release all the women it detains.
A Palestinian official said that the collapse came after Israel demanded that Hamas release the female soldiers.
