Lieberman: We will continue our operations in Syria

Despite the Russian anger of the recent plane shutdown, an Israeli official stated that Israel will continue operations in Syria even after the Russian plane downing Incident.

The Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman said on Sunday that Israel is continuing its military operations against the Iranian presence in Syria despite the Russian plane crash in Syrian airspace.

The statement by the Israeli defense minister was in response to allegations that Russia may close Syrian airspace to the Israeli air force.

“We acted and acted cautiously and responsibly in all difficult and easy situations, so nothing changed and we will continue with the military operations in Syria and this is our policy”, Lieberman said.

“We will not allow Syria to be turned into an advanced Iranian base against the State of Israel, and we are continuing to work, so we have every means and means to deter this threat”, he said.

According to the Israeli defense chief, the Israeli army will continue to rely on coordination with the Russian military leadership in Syria in order to avoid collisions in Syrian airspace.

Moscow accused the Israeli warplanes of carrying out provocative air maneuvers that endangered the Russian aircraft and made them vulnerable to Syrian fire.

In a telephone conversation with Avigdor Lieberman, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shweigo said that as a result of the irresponsible actions of the Israeli Air Force, a tragedy that led to the death of 15 Russian soldiers had taken place.

“Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shweigo made telephone calls to his Israeli counterpart Avigdor Lieberman”, the defense ministry said in a statement.

“Despite the agreement between Israel and Russia on the prevention of serious incidents between them, the Russian side was informed only a minute before the F-16 fighter jets fired at Syria”, the Russian defense minister said.
