Le Monde: The images don’t support that al Shifa Hospital was a Hamas leadership center

Citing testimonies from employees of al Shifa Hospital in Gaza, emergency caesarean sections are now being performed without anesthesia as a result of the lack of medical supplies and fuel, which often leads to the death of the mother following the birth.

Le Monde said that it had analyzed videos broadcast by the Israeli army since it occupied the Shifa Hospital building in Gaza, which showed the presence of a tunnel, but it wasn’t of the size that would make it a large operational center for Hamas as presented by the Israeli armed forces.

Le Monde newspaper explained that the spokesman for the Israeli armed forces appears wandering through a tunnel, pointing to a kitchen, toilet, or a small empty room, in videos that allegedly prove the existence of a huge underground operations center used by Hamas under the hospital complex.

Thanks to the unedited sequence of these videos, Le Monde was able to reconstruct maps of this underground passage, which is about 130 meters long.

“We notice arrangements there, but they don’t amount to an operational and strategic center, nor to a large weapons cache, as the Israeli army claims,” Le Monde said.

Le Monde pointed out that the Israeli army had previously accused Hamas of taking a command center under the al Shifa Hospital complex, displaying three-dimensional images of a center with 5 meeting rooms several days before it stormed the complex, but the images it broadcast didn’t resemble the tunnel it showed.
