John Bolton: Putin is able to strip Kiev of its Western allies with a surprising maneuver that turns the chessboard

The Former US National Security Adviser John Bolton considered that if the Kiev attack fails, Russian President Vladimir Putin is able to “turn the chessboard” through a peace offer that the West may be inclined to agree to.
“If Kiev’s spring offensive doesn’t lead to significant progress on the battlefield, Putin could offer without warning a cease-fire for the next two months on the current front lines, and immediately begin negotiations, as political leaders in Berlin, Paris, and even Washington would be tempted to agree to a cease-fire and to enter into negotiations,” Bolton said.
The politician considered that, despite the current rhetoric of Western countries, many European politicians will want to make the conflict a part of the past.
Bolton pointed out that the low level of military and financial support to Ukraine confirms this possibility.
The former US official expressed confidence that French President Emmanuel Macron, hinting at his political ambitions, won’t miss the opportunity to obtain the title of peacemaker.
Bolton continued by saying that US President Joe Biden can also benefit from the situation by finding a way out of the current impasse.
He emphasized, “The sad truth is that Biden’s policy is failing, and Ukraine can become a political burden, and he may be looking for a way out, and Putin’s bold diplomatic gambit may be exactly the excuse Biden needs”.
He noted that the West’s collective tendency to agree to Russian proposals could put Ukraine in a bad position.
Recently some European leaders starts to send warning to Kiev.
The Hungarian President, Katalin Novak, confirmed that she had informed the Ukrainian president, of the lack of military solutions to the Ukrainian crisis, and urged him to enter into negotiations with Russia.
