Haaretz newspaper, demanded in its editorial, Wednesday, that Israel work on an urgent and more urgent mission, which is the return of Israelis detained by the Hamas and Islamic Jihad movements in the Gaza Strip.

Haaretz said, “The meaning is clear, it’s an immediate payment for a prisoner exchange deal as part of Israel’s readiness to release security prisoners imprisoned in Israel”.

Haaretz pointed out that what it called the “deadly counterattack” launched on Gaza on the one hand, and the rising voices in the government, on the other hand.

On the other hand, the return of Israelis isn’t the top concern of the Israeli government.

What is more dangerous than that is that the Israeli government decided to activate the “Hannibal” measure on the “150” Israeli prisoners and missing persons whose presence in the Gaza Strip was declared by Israel.

The “Hannibal” measure is a top-secret security and military measure, used by the Israeli government to prevent its soldiers from falling into the hands of the enemy.

Its basis is based on getting rid of its soldiers in the event of captivity, rather than liberating them or entering into negotiations.

According to Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations, Gilad Erdan, who said in an interview with CNN, “concern about the situation of the prisoners won’t prevent us from doing everything required to guarantee the future of Israel”.

A statement of the Director General of the Prime Minister’s Office, Yossi Sheli, said, “the prisoners are a reality, the attack is a reality, and this is the decision,” in addition to the call of the Minister of Finance, Bezalel Smotrich, to strike Hamas brutally, and not give important considerations to the issue of the prisoners.

Haaretz newspaper stressed that no government has the right to trade the lives of missing persons and decide to sacrifice them, especially the current Israeli government, which is the most lenient government among the governments of Israel.

Haaretz concluded by saying, “It’s forbidden to wait, or hesitate, or hesitate… Every second that passes puts their lives and the tranquility of their families in danger… A prisoner’s deal now”.

According to latest information, the exact number of Israeli prisoners held by Hamas in the Gaza Strip is still unknown, but they are estimated their numbers to exceed 200.

On the other hand, the Israeli media reported that the number of Israeli deaths had risen to about 1,200, in addition to more than 2,900 injuries, in light of the continuation of the fighting.
