Gen. David Petraeus warns Prigozhin of assassination
Former CIA director Gen. David Petraeus warned the leader of Wagner’s forces against an attempt on his life after the attempted rebellion against the army led by Yevgeny Prigozhin, last Saturday.
In an interview on CNN, Gen. Petraeus said that Prigozhin lost control of Wagner after he launched a rebellion against the Russian government, and that he should fear assassination attempts.
Petraeus said the crisis had shaken the Russian government and made Putin more vulnerable than at any other time during his 23-year rule.
The former Air Force general also said that Prigozhin may have spared his life, at least for the time being, after striking a deal with the president of Belarus, but that he should be very careful about open windows in his new surroundings, implying the possibility of his orchestrated downfall… One of the balconies of his new home.
