Amnesty International: Israel challenges the ruling of the International Court of Justice regarding Gaza

Amnesty International considered that Israel is defying the ruling of the International Court of Justice to prevent genocide by not allowing sufficient humanitarian aid to reach Gaza.

“One month after the ICJ ruling, Israel has failed to ensure that sufficient life-saving goods and services reach Gazans at risk of genocide and on the brink of famine,” Amnesty said in a statement.

Amnesty International added that the occupying entity failed to take the minimum temporary measures to protect the Palestinians.

Amnesty International had previously said, “Israel must end its occupation of Palestine to stop fueling the apartheid system and systematic human rights violations”.

As public hearings begin at the International Court of Justice to consider the legal consequences of the Israeli occupation, Amnesty International Secretary General Agnes Callamard said that the world must realize that ending the illegal Israeli occupation is a precondition for stopping repeated human rights violations in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories.

The Amnesty International organization noted that for 56 years, Palestinians in the occupied Palestinian territories have been living besieged and oppressed under the brutal Israeli occupation, and are subjected to systematic discrimination.

The Israeli occupation of Palestine is the longest military occupation and one of the deadliest military occupations in the world.

For decades, this occupation has been characterized by systematic and widespread violations of Palestinian rights, and also enabled and consolidated the Israeli apartheid regime imposed on the Palestinians.
