A delegation of Palestinian Hamas movement makes a visit to Moscow to meet Russian officials

The Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov received, on Thursday, a delegation from the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), headed by the head of the movement’s International Relations Office, Musa Abu Marzouk.
The talks, which took place in the guesthouse of the Russian Foreign Ministry, dealt with the volatile Palestinian situation in light of an extremist Israeli government, according to a source in the Palestinian delegation.
The talks also reviewed the current regional and international situation.
The delegation of the movement affirmed the rights of the Palestinian people and their right to resist the Israeli occupation by all available means, stressing that the current Zionist government, with its extremist policies, leads cases of violations and systematic killing of the Palestinian people.
In turn, Bogdanov expressed his country’s position in support of the rights of the Palestinian people, and reviewed the efforts made by his country with the concerned parties.
The visit of Hamas delegation comes with the approaching month of Ramadan and its intersection with Jewish holidays and declared Israeli plans for the temporal and spatial division of al Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.
It also comes in light of the continued attacks of the Israeli occupation and settlers against the Palestinians, and their escalation in the occupied West Bank in particular, as Palestinian getting killed almost daily and others are wounded as a result of their response to the Israeli attacks.
The head of Hamas delegation had discussed with Bogdanov in Moscow the Palestinian issue and the regional and international situation last May.
On September 12, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov received Ismail Haniyeh, head of the Hamas political bureau, in Moscow, heading a delegation of the movement.
At the time, the talks focused on developments in the Middle East, especially the Palestinian problem, and the need to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict on the basis of international law, and a host of other issues.
